Scimar podcast tops Apple’s science charts
Inside the Breakthrough celebrates science and discovery
As of March 1, 2021 — only five weeks after launching its first episode — Scimar’s Inside the Breakthrough is Canada’s leading science podcast on the popular Apple platform. Not only is it #1 on the science charts, it’s #12 in Canada among all podcasts, all topics.
“To see this sort of interest in our podcast this soon is heartening,” says Mick Lautt, Chief Executive Office of Scimar. “People are fascinated with the story of discovery, both historically and today. I think that’s why the podcast is so popular.”
Hosted by Dan Riskin, former co-host of Daily Planet on the Discovery Channel, Inside the Breakthrough looks at some of the most fascinating stories from the world of research and shines a light on the serendipity, sweat equity, and savvy that make science come to life. As of today, there have been over 13,500 downloads of the podcast with only a trailer and three of 10 episodes in circulation.
Inside the Breakthrough also tells the remarkable story of Dr. Wayne Lautt, the groundbreaking research he is leading at Scimar, and the significant progress the company is making toward validating and unveiling a new paradigm in the prevention, detection, and treatment of type 2 diabetes. Riskin reveals a bit more of the Scimar story in each episode, building up to an important and exciting milestone in the coming weeks.
“Human beings are hard-wired to embrace and share stories,” says Mick Lautt. “I think positioning the Scimar story in a podcast like this helps people appreciate the rigour and the long-term commitment that are the foundation of our progress.”
